It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

"The theory implies that the Israelites did not just abandon Egyptian religion, but they intentionally weaponized its symbols against it through the Ark."

Isreaelis subverting their host nation? Imagine that!

tl:dr; all the studies saying that we are chock full of microplastics are using chemical tests that might not reliably distinguish between microplastics and human body fat, or otherwise may have testing flaws that lead to false positives.

Here's an academic write up claiming the prevalence of plastics in the human body.

And here's the same journal saying the study had a lot of flaws in it's methodology.

ChatGPT will be shutting down it’s most beloved-by-the-mentally-ill version of its LLM version 4.o just in time for Valentine’s Day on February 13th and Reddit’s sanest people on r/MyBoyfriendisAI has reacted calmly and rationally as observed by the people of SubredditDrama

OpenAI is retiring ChatGPT 4 on February 13, which is the most sycophantic version of CHatGPT and allows for roleplaying and as a result r/MyBoyFriendisAI is going though all 5 stages of depression, everything from threatening Sam Altman to exporting all their sensitive Data to Grok and Google in attempt to keep their fantasies alive.

The farewell letters thread:

It's an elaborate plan of Sam Altman:

Normally I wouldn’t just straight copy and paste especially from fucking Reddit but I don’t think there’s much I could add that would improve the experience of this insane crash out by wannabe SHODAN fuckers.

Let’s see if they can save it this time!

Mötley Crüe Wins Years-Long Legal Back-and-Forth with Former Guitarist Mick Mars

I don't understand why they didn't just settle out of court. Seems like it cost more than it was worth. All to squeeze 244k out of an old man with a fucked up spine. Even Daryl Hall and John Oates settled. It's embarrassing to see these geriatric musicians going all at it in court. They should have just given Mick back a small piece of the pie and walked away. But I guess when your singer has three McStrokes from being a fat ass burger addicted alcoholic and the other two guys marry girls young enough to be their daughters you gotta keep the cash flow within the active band members. They can pay John 5 just enough for him not to complain and go back to raking in nostalgiabux.

I find it interesting cavier is seen as some rich people thing. My only exposure to it was poor Russians slathering it on toast.
It was THE thing you’d see rich people having waiters going around with silver trays offering guests at all the private parties in the movies as I was growing up. Then again apparently the story of the lobster was similar at some point, some common as shit poor seafood that eventually became the sign of fine dining and being able to afford more than just hamburgers and pizza.

Record snowfall in Russia's far east buries region in 2 metres of snow

Why has this winter been so ass in so many places?

That's because it's really abundant in the places where lobsters live. People routinely buy dozens of lobsters to boil them on the beach or at home.

It also used to be fed to prisoners and they'd prepare it by boiling the shit out of it until it was rubber. The process of making it has gotten a lot better. It has more texture than taste, hence the practice of dipping it in garlic butter or boiling it in beer (or both).

I suppose it would be the same for fish eggs then since that shit would be common as…well sea water until we get done overfishing the seas I guess. Thanks dude!
