The reason people responded they way they did was because he went radio silent. If he had even said anything at all indicating that it was not true, but that he needed time to get the facts straight in order to give a measured response, I believe more people would have given him the benefit of the doubt, but instead there was nothing. Silence seems guilty and I didn't blame people for reading it that way. If he had even contacted one of his friends that would have changed things, but the fact that no one heard from him, even DeOrio, was very odd. He left everyone in the dark. I'm not saying he isn't being honest in his response, but it did seem om strange that he went dark for two weeks.
