Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

Of course they're trying to downplay the files now that it's known kids as young as six were victimized. The side that supposedly “wants to save the kids” suddenly going “fuck them kids” isn't a huge surprise. They only care about that shit when it's democrats doing it.
No, no, you misunderstood their message. They've been consistent from day one.

It's save the kids as in save them for later. You can't fuck all of them at once. You gotta stagger it out.

the "best" explanation is that he was always like this but a combo of twitter's character cap and a different person in charge of typing it out meant plenty of stuff was "lost in translation" while now its unedited. Trump admitted to switching who was in charge of his social media account after he left office. i'm pretty sure its some bitch that survived cancer thanks to some law he passed, or at least that's what he said in some speech about his team. the alternative is that its just plain old smooth brain
I think the woman that writes it out now for him is the one he sleeps with? Was some deranged fan that really latched onto him and practically worships the guy.

A civil war isn't going to happen, life is too comfortable despite all of the whining on the internet.

Reminds me of the Latinas For Trump woman that now is lambasting people like Stephen Miller.

Anyone with a shred of common sense gets that the way they're doing the deportations is turning off voters as they're not going after criminals as they'd initially said they would.

Florida state Sen. Ileana Garcia (R), co-founder of Latinas for Trump, blasted President Trump’s immigration crackdown, warning he “will lose the midterms” because of White House adviser Stephen Miller.

“I do think that he will lose the midterms because of Stephen Miller,” Garcia told The New York Times in an interview published Tuesday.

Though Garcia was openly supportive of Trump’s plans to close the border, she placed blame on Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff, for the aggressive tactics used during the current crackdown.

Her comments come after federal agents in Minneapolis over the weekend shot and killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti amid a protest against the administration’s immigration action, weeks after an ICE officer shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Good in the city earlier this month.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Pretti “attacked” federal law enforcement, while Miller described Pretti as “a would-be assassin” who “tried to murder federal law enforcement.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday distanced Trump from those remarks, saying she had not heard the president “characterize Mr. Pretti in that way” and deferring to the investigation.

“Distorting, politicizing, slandering – justifying what happened to Alex Pretti contradicts the American values the administration campaigned on. He was neither a domestic terrorist nor an assassin,” Garcia wrote in a Monday post on the social platform X, responding to Miller’s characterization of the incident.

“Allowing individuals like Stephen Miller, among others, who represent the government and make hard-line decisions, to make such comments will have long term consequences. … This is not what I voted for!” she continued.

Garcia, who rallied support from Latina voters to help get Trump elected in 2016 and served in Trump’s Department of Homeland Security during his first term, has blasted what she last year called “inhumane” tactics to meet deportation goals.

Her comments mark the latest sign of growing frustration with Trump’s immigration handling as fallout from the Minnesota shootings grows, as observers warn the issue could have a lingering impact on November’s high-stakes midterms.

It's the 2000s all over again. Back then, conservatives were whining and bitching about how violent video games and movies with sexual content were leading children astray, screaming "what about the kids!?" Only to have conservative clerics and pastors getting caught diddling kids and traumatizing them for life.

There's a reason why the Catholics are stuck doing the whole "open doors for the marginalized and LGBTQ" thing that they've been doing as of late. By the end of the 2000s, the scandals with the clergy destroyed their political and moral capital. Back in the 90s and early 2000s, the Roman Church was the vanguard of the conservative coalition; the people whom the Evangelicals, the conservative Republicans, and right-wingers of all stripes looked to for leadership, especially after the fall of the Soviet Union and the victory of John Paul II.

But after all the scandals with the clergy broke out, that really destroyed any moral or social capital the Church gained after the Cold War. When Pope Benedict XVI gave an honest assessment of Islam's violent nature, no one leapt to defend him when the Muslim world called for him to shut his mouth, even though he was technically correct; the biggest thing Islam added to the Abrahamic formula was Jihad, which Christianity countered with Crusades and Inquisitions. But that failed to save Benedict's weakening reign, or stop the decline of his church.

So once Benedict stepped down, and the new Pope, Francis I, stepped up, he went the reverse course from Benedict's conservatism and instead went for a whole "embrace all people in need of help" agenda, doubling-down on the Church's charity, and making outreaches towards racial minorities, gays and trannies, and all sorts of persecuted people, or people in need. That allowed the Church to regain some modicum of respect, where now, once again, a decent chunk of the western world, this time, the Left, sees the new Papacy under Leo XIV, as a pillar of truth and justice. Especially since Leo is set to continue the same agenda Francis began.

I can imagine the same thing will happen to MAGA. Once the Epstein files come out in full, or once the full effect of Trump's foolishness finally hits every single American, the MAGAs and the conservative Republicans will lose all their political and moral capital. They're bringing in more Indians who can threaten American jobs. Their ICE raids and tariff wars made America the bane of the world. America is hated by former allies like Denmark and Canada. Nations across the world are making overtures to the Chinese as a way to counter American domination. Everything Trump has done has destroyed America, as a nation, as an idea, as a people.

But I don't think the Republicans and MAGA would make the same about-face the Catholics did. While Catholicism's increasing liberalization helped the church salvage its flagging reputation, MAGA and the Republicans are in a bubble of their own creation, unable to accept the fact of their decline, lying to themselves to paint a picture of their triumph, and even honest people trying to tell them that they're wrong are responded to with brute force and anger from MAGA. Unlike the Catholics who can pull a "Mea Culpa" and accept the need for change, the MAGA Republicans will curse you out for merely daring to suggest change or moderation. Former allies like Ann Coulter, John Bolton, and Mike Pence were all cast aside because they could not be loyal 100% to the cause. This of course, means that MAGA will not know they are wrong, until it is way too late to reverse course.

Unlike the Roman Church, who saw the way the wind was blowing and made a change in agenda to salvage their reputation, Trump and MAGA will let America burn in Hell before they admit they were wrong. The problem is, once they do that, the world and America as a whole will end up persecuting them. They will be the sacrificial offering in the altar, whose blood will be spilt in front of God and man, so that decent people can say that all is well. Even if it doesn't fix anything, the incoming administration will lay the blame for America's many problems on Trump and MAGA, and punish them accordingly, in order to placate an increasingly frustrated and increasingly Anti-American world. The future rulers of America will answer the MAGA question with a Final Solution: the full and total eradication of the Trumpian agenda and power base, in order so that decent men can pretend that the problem has been solved.

Note that I say "pretend", because nothing they can do will actually solve the problems Trump caused. The world will never trust America again, and with that loss of trust, comes the loss of capital, the loss of prestige, and the loss of power. America will eventually become a vestigial empire like Byzantium; it will have no way to go but down, unless some Divine intervention comes along to save it. But that won't stop Trump's haters from decimating his power base anyways, even if it's just one last spiteful act against the group that destroyed the power and prestige that America's youth could have inherited.

A young man can bear with equanimity the death of his family, but the loss of his inheritance will drive him to despair. And people in despair are capable of some truly nasty things in order to get even. Revenge is one hell of a motivator.

Imagine having to pretend celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Rob Schneider are hip and relevant, much like their Orange God.

These are the same people who act like Roseanne was a victim when she was an asshole who sperged online, made a really dumb comment on Twitter, and tried to blame Ambien as the reason.

I grew up watching Roseanne and always thought about she was funny, but she's not the person that she once was.

One version of what happened is in the Malachi Martin novel "Windswept House"--not for the faint of heart but you will recognize everybody in it.

Secular version is Goodbye! Good Men: How Catholic Seminaries Turned Away Two Generations of Vocations from the Priesthood (pdf)

tl;dr: incremental but eventually total gay takeover of priesthood, particularly certain religious orders.

Yes, I read about that. And the same thing is happening to MAGA.

You have manlets whining about how bad women are, how great masculinity is, and whenever the Right has a meeting, gay apps like Grindr crash due to all the users gathering in one place.

Then they wonder why brown-skinned people are zooming past them in the population charts.

It's basically a self-inflicted wound; one that they refuse to patch up.

I love this book. There's a hilarious story about a Mass celebrated on a coffee table covered with a cloth decorated with Egyptian hieroglyphs while "Cherish" by Kool and the Gang plays during Communion. Like what the fuck...

Think I mentioned it before but at one time I was in the process of applying to seminary to become a priest.

The "🧊 Did you know ICE is hiring?" yet again pinned to the homepage genuinely makes me wonder what I'm doing on this site. Though I'm not paying for ✨Kiwi Gold™️✨ I don't want to even however distantly play any part in assisting an authoritarian egomaniacal dementia-ridden leader and his brownshirts as they continue to be hellbent on making life in the US shittier for everyone who isn't a billionaire pedophile.
I miss /cow/....
