I think Obama's Deportation in Chief strategy towards illegal immigration was actually the smart move. Deport a record amount of illegals, but never make a visible big deal out of doing it. I think part of Trump's mistake is making a big show sloppy deportations, rather than quick, quiet and professional actions. People like sausage, but they do not like watching it be made. Same way that a lot of people who are neutralish on immigration may like the sound of "less illegal immigration", but seeing random brown people(some of whom they know) in distress while masked men chase them down is distressing.

But: The Minnesota AG (and a bunch of other D controlled state AGs) are of the opinion that you should not have a weapon on you during a protest, as that is a a incitement to violence and not covered by the 2nd. That is their opinion, which they have coveniently forgotten now that it is convenient to pretend they care about the 2nd when they have spent the last 40 years pushing gun control.

I would say a lot of the Dem politicians are realizing why getting rid of guns was a bad idea, but I think that'd be optimistic. They're gun control nuts, and only want Approved(tm) people to have guns; this is what happens when they get what they want.
