A lot of states keep that that information confidential. It really depends on the jurisdiction. For states that do allow it, it requires some kind of justification or you need to be in law enforcement. Not sure if FOIA would cover it.

In which case, why would one need a concealed carry?
Maybe it’s just a European perspective, but I can understand concealed carry being the accepted thing if open carry is discouraged in terms of the general culture not finding people brandishing guns to be appropriate.
Let people have their guns if it’s their right and they feel safe with one in their jacket, but the others who might feel a bit nervous around them don’t have to see them.
However, if it’s the kind of state where everyone can go around openly armed and Patrick’s alleged motivation for his concealed carry is in case of dangerous people, then why bother with concealed carry?
Having a gun on display would put off the kind of people who would think twice, and those that wouldn’t, we’ll surely it’s easier to have access to the gun on a belt holster than in a shoulder or leg holster?
It’s not like police officers, armed security and the like favor concealed carry or shoulder holsters.
