The best thing is that the Mongolians are still as lactose intolerant as the rest of Asia, but they focus on fermented milk and had a bacteria in their mouths that helped process lactose, so they just powered through it. While the Japanese just power through it, although I've heard their locally made pizza cheese sucks, as you'd expect.
