Culture The US is in early stages of an anti-trans genocide, experts say - One expert called the situation “terrifying.”

Genocide experts are sounding the alarm to warn that the U.S. is in the early stages of a larger campaign to “literally, physically” destroy transgender people as a specific gender group, according to a report from the Accountability Journalism Institute’s Important Context newsletter republished by the Lemkin Institute, a U.S.-based multinational non-governmental organization dedicated to ending genocide.

Lemkin Institute President Dr. Elisa von Joeden-Forgey said the U.S. is now in the “early-to-mid stages of a genocidal process against trans and nonbinary and intersex people.” She added that Republicans are using trans people to generate fear — particularly surrounding children, family, and their ideal concept of masculinity — to prime their base for genocide, the institute reported in a recent article.

Dr. Gregory Stanton, president of the group Genocide Watch, agreed, saying that Donald Trump’s executive order denying any recognition of any gender outside of the male-female binary is a “totalitarian” idea that is driven by “Nazi ideology.” Dr. Stanton also noted that such strict male-female binaries neither exist in nature nor in many other cultures.

“The Trump administration and its bases… have identified a set of ‘enemies’ or ‘objectionable people’” and have stirred up public prejudice against them “in a way that is escalating toward violence,” said Dr. Henry Theriault, who served as the International Association of Genocide Scholars from 2017 to 2021.

Former genocide researcher Haley Brown said that the 20 U.S. states with anti-trans bathroom bills “effectively give non-state actors tacit approval to commit violence” against trans people by essentially deputizing people to police gender expression “down to the very physiological characteristics” of every person.

Brown also noted that Trump and his cronies’ anti-trans rhetoric has often invoked the conspiracy theory of so-called “cultural Marxism” (which is the modern incarnation of the Nazi antisemitic conspiracy theory of “Cultural Bolshevism,” or the idea that there is a concerted international campaign – led by Jewish people – to undermine traditional Western culture). The rhetoric includes the ideas that “leftists, feminists, Marxists, and LGBTQIA+ people are trying to destroy Western civilization” and that these “immoral,” “inferior” groups should be destroyed.

Dr. Theriault said that trans Americans may be more vulnerable due to their small population. They make up only about 1% of the adult population — a size equivalent to Jews in 1933 Germany — and violence against trans people has been rising. Dr. von Joegen-Forgey called the situation “terrifying,” adding, “No one goes to war… on behalf of the victims of genocide.”

Theriault said the U.S. would increase policies to make life “intolerable” for trans Americans, something that will cause the trans suicide rate to rise dramatically. Indeed, Republicans have already instated policies nationwide to defund any trans-inclusive research or policies, force trans kids and adults to medically detransition, and force trans people into sex-segregated spaces where they’re likely to face more discrimination and violence.

“We’re already at the point for trans folks, for immigrants, where the damage is being done,” Dr. Theriault said. “So it’s not so much ‘will genocide happen?’ as ‘we got to stop it from happening.’”

Dr. von Joegen-Forgey warned, “You don’t have a democracy that’s committing genocide against one group. That is not a democracy anymore, once genocide is in the mix. The state in question will commit other mass atrocities.”

btw the best thing about this is the underlying article is basically it coping that "genocide" of a mental illness is not covered by the UN definition:

Under international law, genocide refers to acts aimed at destroying, in whole or in part, religious, national, ethnic, or racial groups. But experts Important Context spoke with argued that these legal categories may be too narrow—or too narrowly interpreted—today.

Theriault said that increasingly, attacks are aimed at groups that are socially defined rather than those explicitly covered by the UN Convention. Haley Brown, a former genocide researcher focused on attacks on transgender people, said “there’s very little scholarship on this topic at all.”

Dr. Gregory Stanton, a former IAGS president who serves now as founder and president of the group Genocide Watch, said the attacks on transgender and nonbinary people in the U.S. represent a “genocidal” attempt “to destroy a gender group.”

Stanton noted that Raphael Lemkin, who coined the term “genocide” in the 1940s, also understood it to have a broader definition beyond religious, national, ethnic, and racial contexts.

Wait, wait. I thought we were already in the middle of a LITCHURAL trans genocide and Trumpwaffen SS was going door-to-door bagging them in the night? So it's not happening, you finally admit that, but you still want the hype like it is?

Cope, seethe, dilate, you will never be a woman.

30 years of "trans hate" and only NOW did we get to the BEGINNING of a genocide?

Says the "expert"?

This is exactly why the era of the Expert that has ruled us since the 50's is dying an inglorious death.

The experts are proving to be experts at nothing but navel gazing and political feverishness.

Forget everything else. Why are they so fascinated with this word @grok
Because English does not have a 2nd person plural pronoun. It used to. Up until very recently, 'thou' was the singular 2nd person pronoun and 'you' was plural. Like in a lot of languages, 'you' was also singular 2nd person when being polite. English speakers are very polite so we just started saying 'you' by default for everyone. Now we have no way to say 'you' (plural) without saying 'you all' or 'you guys'. The second is very problematic and genocidal. So they like to say folx, which is genocidal towards southern folx.

As soon as I see the word "genocide" I just ignore the rest of the article as it's going to be faggot laden trash.

That's what happens when people screech "genocide" at every little minor thing that doesn't bow down before them.

Haven’t they announced the “early stages” like 10 times already?

Forget the fact that trannies fit none of the categories of groups that can be genocided; how would one ethnically cleanse a population that sterilizes itself as a rite of passage? Seeing that they genocide themselves, maybe trannies should be prosecuted for commiting genocide?

Cool, finally. Can I pay some micro transactions to speed up the process? You know, like in a mobile slop game where I don't want to wait for the knights to finish fighting or whatever. I'll spend all the premium gems and scrolls I have!

What do you mean 'escalating', they already molested our kids and wives. The violence is already happening.

Trannies reproduce by indoctrinating children and the mentally feeble. Keeping those groups away from them IS the genocide in their eyes.
It's all about access to children to these people
