I think you might slightly underestimate how pozzed certain law enforcement agencies may be, but it's true that he can't necessarily just order police and guardsmen into rebellion with the feds and expect that to happen. Under normal circumstances, I would say that there's absolutely no chance that a politician does something as retarded as ordering the NG to 'resist' federal agents. These aren't normal circumstances. Tim is scared, you can hear the trembling in his voice now. The federal government is serious about indicting and prosecuting him. And they seem to be confident in whatever evidence they have that shows he was involved/complicit with the fraud. Add to that, Walz's has been increasingly advocating for his constituents to interfere with ICE and federal law enforcement and with today's "the country is looking at us to set an example." Statement from him, he's looking and acting more and more like a cornered animal. A retarded cornered animal is going to make mistakes. And I think Tim in his current situation moves the needle from "nothing ever happens" to "it's unlikely but something might happen.". So odds are low but this guy might possibly make the single most retarded decision possible when the time comes.
Yes, thanks to the Civil War the powers of the States were limited as the National Guard became modernized into what we have now, a federal force that is split between the states with limited operational ability from the Governors. Some states do have their own independent militias still, but those all seem to have been relegated to supporting the NG, and a few apparently don't even have weapons training. It doesn't help that they're basically rounding errors in terms of military capacity and have next to no publicity.

Many of the leftoids malding over this have swallowed their own propaganda about police shootings. Some of it might be piss poor attempts at trolling but many of them are genuinely confused and outraged about the mere fact that police shot a white woman, don't you know the police are only supposed to kill black and brown bodies of color?
