I saw this and immediatly thought to respond with something along the lines of "isn't this just them aping those old Kaizo and other 'hard-mode' ROM hacks of old platformers?" However, once I actually took time to rewatch some gameplay of said ROM hacks, I realized the anons might be onto something here. See below:
There are quite a few "death zone" moments here and there but none of them are nearly as drawn-out as ones from the Celeste and all of them are much more creative than just "series of jumps that can be barely done in the game in an open space". Yeah, troonspikes are pretty clearly just shit game design.

Some of this art contains tiny pieces of my soul. I hope that it always adds to the experience, but I also understand that sometimes my words, actions, or even existence can put people off.

Separate art from artist if you can enjoy art that way.

There's a lot of cool art out there, made by all sorts of people, enjoyed by all sorts of people.

Don't waste time here if you don't like the game. Go find some art made by someone you agree with and enjoy that instead. And if you can't find any, then make some yourself.

The examples @CEO of Autism gave are cherrypicked rooms from optional bonus levels. The main game's platforming is way more varied.
This is a level from a popular collaboration map, combining mechanics from a number of different, smaller maps into one.
Skip to 4 minutes for the actual platforming.
Plenty of maps (this one included) use custom mechanics made by the mapper.

Celeste is fun. Sadly it's not really worth playing for more than a few hours. The first seven chapters (the most polished) are only about 10 hours of content if you're slow, and detour to grab some collectibles. Once you're actually good at the game it gets dull pretty quick.
I tried playing harder difficulty modded maps, but learning harder stuff isn't nearly as fun as playing beginner difficulty levels when you're just starting out.

this is PERFECT i don't care if i'm a casual for this i'm not like all you smelly gamer nerds. i love puzzles. i am a middle-aged woman who reached level 99999 in candy crush on all levels but physical. i was so excited to play this game i almost bought it right there but my troon senses started tingling at the whole cozy rodent game thing so i decided to slow down and investigate. i don't want my money to end up donated to some troongroom.org that "protects trans kids" from their spooky scary puberty after all
