one day we'll see the 101st dropping into california cities with rifles at the ready. i hope i live however long it takes for that to happen.
you guys REALLY need to read the first hand accounts of the vets over in ukraine, BOTH SIDES say the same thing
"You never see the enemy until you surrender or die"
Thats how fundamental drones changed warfare, guys with guns never even SEE EACHOTHER.
COUNTLESS accounts of how rifles are just defense against drones AND BAD ONES, Russia is already phasing in shotguns but FAR more is just getting all front line troops to be drone operators.
They can make CIVILIAN grade FPV setups for the cost of a single Armalite UNLOADED
This means the headset, controller AND DRONE. The drone itself might be as low as a few hundred dollars to a few dozen dollars depending on what source you take and its only getting cheaper.
For the weight of a single rifle, UNLOADED, you could carry 5 or 6 of these drones and each one has the ability to interdict and credibly destroy anything from a entire modern tank to a whole infantry squad.
a squad of 10 operators can realistically engage and destroy and entire enemy battalion and stay safe in the process,
Its not just an overstated phrase, DRONES CHANGED WARFARE, for maybe the first fundamental time since the dawn of aviation, maybe even the bow and arrow, all the old rules are out of the window.
BTW thank CHIRST we arent in Afghanistan now, you know what those cheap drones would be doing to us? They were sending home pine boxes with flags on em USING SODA CANS. UGh makes me sick to even think about.
Not tryna doom just wanted to share some intel about the changing landscape of war.
