On June 15, 1813, he published the famous Decree of War to the Death in Trujillo , transforming the Admirable Campaign into a war without quarter: This decree would give its name to the period. Upon concluding the campaign, Bolívar wrote to the Congress of New Granada that he had crossed nine cities and towns, " where almost all Europeans and Canary Islanders were shot ."

A small minority of migrants return from a country like the USA to their country of origin. When you think about it economically it makes sense. Even if you intend to retain a link with your home country, earning in USD sets you apart from wage earners in whatever country you fled from. So, if you have managed to attain some official status in the US, it is unlikely you would throw that away. Refugee status is an easier and more legitimate foot in the door than sneaking in illegally, which makes it palatable for a larger number of people.

Your mistake is analyzing only the economic aspects of it, and forgetting that people actually enjoy being surrounded by their national identity, people etc

I didn't say people won't migrate looking for better opportunities, i say that's not the only reason for it
