War Trump says Venezuela's Maduro captured after strikes - The U.S. has accused Maduro of running a "narco-state" and rigging an election.

WASHINGTON, Jan 3 (Reuters) - The U.S. has struck Venezuela and captured its President Nicolas Maduro, who has been taken out of the country, President Donald Trump said on Saturday.

The U.S. has not made such a direct intervention in Latin America since the invasion of Panama in 1989 to depose military leader Manuel Noriega.

"The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the country," Trump said in a Truth Social post.

There was no immediate confirmation from the Venezuelan government.

The U.S. has accused Maduro of running a "narco-state" and rigging an election. The Venezuelan leader, who succeeded Hugo Chavez to take power in 2013, has said Washington wants to take control of its oil reserves, the largest in the world.

it seems extreme, but the again I dont particularly pay attention to Venezuelan happenings. what did they do to warrant this? other than maduro being a faggot who sings Lennon, I mean.
Well Hugo Chavez started it when he kicked out all the US oil industry who basically helped build and maintain Venezuela’s oil infrastructure and seized all their assets. That really pissed a bunch of people off, business people. People who like deals and hate seeing deals broken. People who like to frame themselves as masters at the Art of the Deal.

Is this coming into picture now? There is also Maduro’s love of Cuba which a certain guy name Marco Rubio may have an issue with being a Cuban expat. That isn’t too cool. Also Venezuela being part of the Americas is meant to be under US influence but is getting too cozy with other powers and that is something POTUS is not liking in his second term for sure.

I wonder how far back this was planned and specific to that if the military strikes against drug boats were merely "theater" that was perhaps even prearranged. (Or were they legitimate actions and the US was already decided on invading)

I have to believe the US wouldn't want to have senseless losses from a hostile military so we're Venezuelan forces made to stand down or given conflicting orders internally?

Sources in the Venezuela opposition tell Sky News that tonight’s operation to “capture” Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, was part of a “negotiated exit” between Maduro and the United States.

This was nothing more than a farce to give the Venezuelan regime a new leader (likely Delcy Rodriguez), Maduro a way out, and for the Trump Administration to claim success while doing next to nothing to prevent an inevitable blowback.

I understand his point, but the in this situation the good outweighs the bad.
On one had, foreign intervention, power vacuum, yadda yadda...
But on the other, total narco death, possible oil, commies btfo
it's a global positive imho, but i just hope other superpowers dont get any ideas

Because Europeans by nature, are cowards and retards.
Lots of Eurofags have this mentality that even if something is bad you just suck it up and learn to live with it, and that you should avoid risk and upsetting the order of things.

The idea of forcing change and bending people to your will has been foreign for Europeans for generations.

People act like this shit hasn't been done before.

Just Cause.
Urgent Fury

"THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN THE HISTORY OF THE EARTH!"
"THEY WILL FIGHT IN THE JUNGLES!"
"THEY WILL TAKE TO THE STREETS!"
<yoink>
"Um, this was unpossible."
