Natural gas has become cost-competitive with coal. I'd rather have ethane/methane/propane/butane burning than coal. The power plants are easier to setup and less costly. That's not even considering actual renewable energy alternatives. I think if there's provable collusion in the business interests of congressmen and green energy there should be penalties but not a rebuke of renewable energy as a whole.
