The fact that they're not releasing any photographs and are pretending they don't have anything on camera means they know exactly who they're looking for.

That's the typical pattern of police information when they know exactly who did it, but believe the person may have gone into a hidey hole they can find with good investigation. They don't want to spook the person, because as soon as the person knows the police are looking for them specifically, they will leave behind any location that has been previously attached to them. If they think they might have gotten away with it and the fuzz doesn't know who they're looking for, they may stay in old haunts with a known connection, if for no other reason than to avoid spending money on hotels and trying to figure out how to get around without using your own ID or credit cards.

It’s both generic and easily changeable. All they will remember is “black”. Step around the corner switch jackets and you’re not being looked for anymore.

It's not hard to conceal a firearm. And as long as criminals exist and don't follow laws things like this will happen. A lot in high trust society is like a unspoken gentlemen's agreement, like agreeing not to mindlessly murder each other. All our laws and privileges are predicated on this idea and it doesn't account for criminals, that's why we have cops. What it takes to make it stop completely? Either kill all criminals until it stops or turn society into an open air prison low trust surveillance state. It's nice to think there's another middle ground but that's the neat part. Our society as it is now IS THE MIDDLE GROUND this is what high trust society with criminals looks like.

I get it's easy to conceal a gun or just toss it if it's too big but you'd think these people still would not be getting away with it due to being seen or recorded, we don't even need to be a surveillance state at this point because everyone is already setting up cameras themselves, even I have one outside pointed at my car. At a point, it really does seem like you'd have to go out of your way not to find these people

Not news to anyone, but I'm convinced all of law enforcement are just fat tacticool slobs.

No wonder they don't want citizens armed when this is the muscle they would use on them.
