Now that you mentioned it, it makes a lot more sense. I still remember seeing a dispensary pop up for the first and thought nothing of it, but now it's impossible to go more than 5 miles without seeing a new one. I guarantee you it's just another scam to get more Jeets into the country.
I came here for Crooks stuff but I found this and I feel like I should reply to the weed stuff:
As someone who's worked in the business, they're not that complicated to set up actual stores and run. 98% of the dispensaries dont make the products they sell and just buy from the 2-3 companies that do.
The reason why they come and go is because almost everyone thinks they're easy to run because weed is fun to smoke. They start their own business and go full Surprise Pikachu when they realize it's an actual business that needs to be ran and there's codes and laws to abide by.
Basically they're almost always started by a bunch of stoners with no ethics or older people that don't smoke weed but assume it's gonna be a fun project over the summer, and it never is.
But I won't say the marijuana regulation boards behind the scenes can't be corrupt though… Basically if you know the right people, they're willing to play blind deaf and dumb.
(At least in my neck of the woods, it's also very incestuous. Everyone knows everyone, and you can be blacklisted from the industry easily if they don't like you. )
Im not sure if it's easy for illegals to get jobs at them though?
There's a lot of identification that goes into it:
you need a food handler's card, a government mandated weed holder's card and federal background check, along with a social security card and a valid state ID to even get the weed card lol.
(In my area, you can't even visit a product manufacturing place without a weed handlers card and it can get the place in trouble if it's not correct/outdated. Someone I used to work with had issue because his name was formatted incorrectly lol. Obviously this doesn't apply just visiting a dispensary but you do need an ID to go into one.)
But idk. I've never worked with illegals and never plan on doing that. Idk what Jew magic they can conjure up lol.
