I can't stand the look of the remaster. I'm with you on it being uncanny. It looks just wrong to have the low res sprites smoothed over, and for the contrast to be upped to give everything a playdough look. In fact, I think it's now harder to get a read on what you are looking at because everything has been covered in putty.

What the obsession is with doing this to old games I don't know, the OG Starcraft still looks great, just add in some additional resolution options and maybe a couple of other optional things you can toggle, boom, done.
