I don't know what happened with covid, but it seemed to me like the used car market just went off a cliff then. before you could get a decent used car for 4-5 grand and now that's closer to 7 or 8 grand.

I recently dropped 3 grand to rebuild the transmission on my 10 year old car. As I was driving the rental while things were being worked on I reached an epiphany.

Modern cars SUCK. They drive themselves. They are constantly bitching at you about road hazards.you cant go a quarter mile without the computer vibrating the wheel because you did a naughty. On that front, they are literally computers on wheels. There is no feeling. All the vibration is gone. All the sound is gone. I could not hear my vehicle. I could not feel my vehicle. The damn thing had no soul. And I bet its computer was spying on me and recording infractions.

I am never selling or scrapping my car, with its manual transmission, its basic bitch grug tier computer that boils down too "engine hungry, engine hurt, engine sad" its a vehicle that wont bitch at me for changing lanes, and delights in my control over its speed and torque through manual operation.

You cannot put a price on that.

Which is why the used car market has exploded. New cars Suuuuuuuuuuuck. They are full of shit nobody asked for and dont want to pay for.

I recently bought an '08 Dodge Caliber for about $500usd on Facebook Marketplace, so it's possible to get an okayish car for cheap if you're willing to do some repairs and don't ask questions about how it has so many miles and looks like it was in a dust storm with all the windows open.

I can't even talk about generational welfare recipients without raising some very uncomfortable questions about what we can do to reduce the number of people living off welfare for their entire lives. They will freak out, they will riot, they will break laws, they will stomp their feet and DEMAND you keep giving them their purple drink, watermelon, and fried chicken alongside their free apartment for life. The Jews will show sad niggers in snow, Megatokyo style, demanding your empathy return and you go back to retooling your entire society to feeding uppity entitled criminals who openly want to murder you or else you're a mean person, because that Millstone HAS to go around your neck, Goyim, you can't be allowed to get uppity like in 1925 again.

But you cut off the gibs, gut the entire social safety net, and then you wait a few generations -- 20, 30 years -- and the problem is gone forever.
