I never went to this thread since I avoided Animal Control, but since it was near the top of Lolcows I clicked on it.
I find it extremely funny that there are furries that go into debt the same way niggers do with a Cadillac and Gucci clothes. Absolutely hilarious note that kinda-sorta-not-really balances out the horror of the thread.
Trust me, many furries are incredibly financially irresponsible, not usually because they're buying fursuits or furry merch, just in general they cannot work out how to plan properly. I met one furry in passing on a discord who was complaining about them not getting commissions (They were a 4/10 when it came to art) and said how financially ruining that was, when I enquired as to, like, why, since most people would use art as a side hustle to build up, they admitted they had got the lease to their apartment by promising within 6 months they could make their art financially viable (which isn't unheard of, so probably a private landlord they knew and paid a bit upfront to secure the property), they were lamenting and hating upon "popufur artists" for this and I literally sat there and said "Dude, it's your own fucking fault. What fucking idiot puts their entire life on the line for such a saturated market with literally no investment, no advertisement and no portfolio to speak of?" OFC this made them angy and the admin banned them for being a bitch. But you see this type of through line through a lot of furries, primarily Gen-Z ones.
I will say Gen-Z has this massive issue, they look at Youtube, X, Instagram, TikTok (etc) and think all they have to do is make videos and make tons of money, they take their (WHOLLY unoriginal) ideas and make up this worldview that if they just sink their life into what are, hobbies, they'll make it big. There's literally no realisation from them that most people who made it big (Like the overwhelming 99.9%) did so whilst working a full time job and this was their hobby until it became more financially viable to quit the job and make their hobby a full time thing. It's why you'll see a massive issue with Gen-Z not having any skills or motivation for anything. Now, with furries this is incredibly more prevalent as people hugbox each other and support super shitty and retarded ideas, instead of trying to appeal to reality they're more interested in their little headcannons of how life works. I'm not saying this doesn't effect furries of all ages, by jove I've met furries older than me who are retarded with money, for sure, but it's definitely getting worse with the Z-generation inbound.
