Jae Bae is a good example even in her scripted Tiktoks. She's an attention seeker in addition to being manipulative enough to get people to feed and house her. She doesn't care about flipping out or acting like a child, because it gets her what she wants. She likes being retarded on camera.they always involve the most regressive, juvenile, spoiled people that I've ever seen.
Plus acting like a spoiled child attracts codependent enablers. If she was mature and acted like a normal person, she wouldn't have people bending over backwards to make sure she never had to get a job or feed herself.
It's probably hard to get to 600 lbs and stay there if you have to work a job to buy those french fries.
That's a great point. The other thing is the show requires the patient to have at least one friend or relative willing to be on camera during the whole year-long shooting schedule. They say it's for support, but it's obviously so they have drama on screen. The only people who would want to put their bodies on television to be gawked at and mocked and made into gifs have to be people with low maturity.
You may love your 600 lb sister, but would you be willing to have TLC film you feeding and bathing her? Would you be willing to move to a shitty apartment in Houston with her, then sit in Dr Now's office for the appointments? If so, you're probably trashy like the megafat sister. These families are usually trashy in many ways.
No, Trump could encourage new laws or change regulations at most.Is this true?
The old public asylums weren't federal. They were owned and run by states and the feds were only providing some funding. Reagan was governor of California when he closed the California state asylums. People get confused and claim he did it as President.
Reagan encouraged the repeal of much of the Mental Health Systems Act through US Congress, but he wasn't in charge of the Congress, obviously. Plus original Act had only been in effect for a couple years since it was pushed by Jimmy Carter. State asylums had been open for generations at that point.
People love to blame Reagan for the entire US asylum closure trend, but he only did it in California. It was popular on the left, too. That's why the trend spread everywhere.
