It's strange how the Left is suddenly going full bore "release the list/Sound of Freedom!" when back during the height of their cultural dominance in 2020-2022 they were defending Cuties*, saying how the word "MAP" should be used instead of Pedo, and excusing explicit pornographic material being found in middle schools.

*For the record, I think that Cuties was an attempt to test the waters at the time by some nefarious actors to see what the public reception would be to reducing or eliminating the age of consent. Thankfully even during all the far-left shit that your average person kept their head down for and parroted to keep their job, they still couldn't bully John/Jane Doe into accepting pedophilia as valid.

If it had succeeded, I would have totally lost my faith in humanity.

I might be overthinking this but those two positions don't really have to be contradictory in the mind of a leftist.
I think they might view it more like "the list" is bad not because sex with children is bad but instead because it's about evil rich white patriarchy abusing poor and innocent girls. Cuties or porn books in schools on the other hand are not "icky power dynamics" kind of sex stuff but instead it's "wholesome fun gay liberating reddit" kind of sex stuff

These people are delusional. One of my boomer TV-consooming coworkers was ranting about how Trump is supposedly crying pathetically because he's not being allowed to deport "that natural-born citizen he's been trying to" (he couldn't tell me which one, for some reason).

But that's also the guy who swears Trump groped Erika Kirk on live TV during Charlie's memorial and he's furious we watched the whole memorial and still support Trump after that. Dude says when Erika hugged Trump, he squeezed her ass and gave a little wink and fist pump to the camera.

Some friends and I called him out on that one and he kept yelling "BUT IT WAS ON FUCKIN' LIVE TV!" After we ripped him enough over it, he admitted that he didn't watch the memorial at all, and never would. But he still maintained that "Trump wanted to grope her, he's a fuckin' pervert."

Yeah one of my partners mom is super super TDS loves John Oliver is early Gen X and truly believes he's an evil rapist and roaming gangs of Maga hats are waiting to murder queer people in the state of Texas. If she wasnt genuinely a nice person who has sadly fallen for the most deranged of propaganda. Even my partner who is trans and a little bit scared isn't nearly as TDS as her mother.
I hope little by little I can help break the programming by making them question their own beliefs.
