I guess that's because Kill-La-Kill is supposed to be or at least portrayed as this artsy postmodern deconstruction of muh tranime fanservice and how it objectifies women o algo, and the left is attracted to postmodern art like that. I'm sure the show itself is alright, I haven't watched it myself, but plenty of Breadtuber-types do like to depict the show like that. In contrast, K-On is much more simple in that it's a slice of life CGDCT anime. Right-wingers tend to be attracted to more "simple" and wholesome things, or things that portray a circle as a circle and a square as a square, and K-On does this while being wholesome and not offensive to any religious or social morals. This is not an absolute rule, NGE for example has a large following among chuds, and it is also an artsy anime. On the other side, there was this trend of troons and soyboys liking Bluey, a show for literal toddlers, around a year ago.
