The sad thing about climate change is that it is actually a thing. Coal power plants aren't good for the environment, they basically spew poison into the air, increasing cancer rates and such. A lot of modern manufacturing and farming processes do the same, causing ecological devastation.
So what should we have done about it? Should have started building nuclear power plants 20 years ago so that we would have them available today. I think the left and the right could have easily agreed on that, and maybe some other regulations such as the Clean Air/Water Acts. No one wants to hand down a poisoned environment to their children.
Instead we got fearmongering about how entire cities would be under water, that there would be endless natural disasters and that the earth would heat up forcing billions of people to migrate to more temperate climates.
And the "solutions" were retarded. They put a tax on carbon. A fucking element. They pushed "green" projects that were actually worse than normal coal/gas power. They shut down nuclear and coal power plants before building alternatives.
Such a sad state of affairs. The left basically traded actual environmental causes people on both sides could get on board with, for green scams instead.
