Commiefornia is going ahead with their censorship bill. Bill SB 771 just passed the house and chances are Newsome will sign it into law.
This bill is just a copy of the cUK Offcomm order that makes Social Media companies responsible for damages from "harmful content" "hateful speech" and of course the standard slew of anti-racist, anti-LGBQT and anything else someone may find offensive. You can then sue both the company for "aiding the transmission of..." and the person who posted it. Kiss Section 230 good bye.

This bill would make a social media platform, as defined, that violates the above-referenced provisions of law relating to personal rights through its algorithms that relay content to users or aids, abets, acts in concert, or conspires in violation of those laws, or is a joint tortfeasor in an action alleging a violation of those laws, liable for specified civil penalties. The bill would declare its provisions to be severable and would declare attempted waiver of its provisions to be void and unenforceable.
This bill would become operative on January 1, 2027.
Well you might say, this bill only covers California so what right? Who cares if Californians want to censor their speech? Then I would remind you exactly where 99% of all Tech and Social Media companies are based.
The damage this law will do to the Internet is immense and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. We can only hope that the Tech Companies move out of Commiefornia or that Trump gets off his ass and actually makes a Internet Bill of Rights.
TLDR: Commiefornia realizing that they have 99% of Tech in their state now have passed a bill that gives them control over social media. It's Offcomm 2.0 just in the US.
@Null You might wanna keep an eye on this one boss, it could be a real problem
