I'm gonna say something that I am shocked I'm saying but on the topic of the dynamics of their life in Syria, I admit that although it's grim in so many ways, especially for a person like Chantal who has never ever experienced deprivation to any real degree, I'm genuinely impressed with what we've seen of Salah's attitude.

I can't imagine being him and the resentment I'd feel towards Chantal for causing them to have to flee in the first place along with every other loathsome thing he has to deal with on camera and behind the scenes. He's been kinder and more patient than I could ever be, he seems optimistic and like he's trying to make the best of things and that's an admirable quality, maybe his only one but still.

I'd never believe he would harm her, 3 years we've been watching and I just can't see that being true. Chantal [unfortunately for us] got so fucking lucky that Salah is the person he is, obviously he wants Canada and her money but he goes above and beyond the bare minimum and imo he's earned whatever he can get from her.

He's a passive aggressive little shit but look what he's dealing with it's amazing he doesn't choke her daily. If she follows thru on using the narrative we all expect her to use, that he abused her, I think that's gonna be a much harder sell to anyone paying attention with half a brain. It will always be hilarious to me how little conflict Chantal can actually handle, and how few obstacles in life she can actually overcome. Good news! Southwest no longer does this. The tide is turning. Fats pay two tickets. If the flight wasn’t full they still might get their second seat refunded but if it’s full they are SOL. All flights are full these days.

They can still cheat by pre-boarding and taking the bulkhead seats, and that’s why I won’t fly any airline without assigned seats.
