Always funny to see how things are framed in the media when it comes to shutdowns. AP news: "Government shutdown begins as barion faces new period of uncertainty".


Words cannot express how much I detest this modern bulletin that without a tyrannical overpowering federal government there is chaos and everything falls apart.

I hope the government stays shuttered for a good while. They need to cut so much shit out of our budget. But no the Democrats want a nanny state that we all have to fund.
 
Man whenever this happens nothing fucking happens, hope Trump is cutting the fat as we speak. How many days is it going to be shut down for? It looks like the democrats might get buck broken today though based on the fact Trump is threatening to fire a shit ton of people.
 
Part of me wishes twitter would slap an auto community note on every democrat talking about how this is the right's fault that plainly explained how the senate and filibusters actually work. It wouldent do anything to keep the drones from parroting the lies anyways, but I imagine the sight of it would end up pissing of at least a few of the roaches lying to the people that voted for them
 
The government shut down for a month in late 2018. Nothing of value was lost. Life went on normally. The people doompilling about it or cackle posting about "MUH MAIL" or "MUH SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS" are retarded and should spend a small amount of time reading about the last time this shit happened with Trump.

Arguably the worst effect will be felt in the housing market, as no new VA or FHA loans for housing will be originated or funded. This is a real impact to people who were in the process of buying a house and will fuck a few people over. Neither of those loans are for gibs or niggers either. They make up a significant portion of the housing market activity. The rest is mostly administrative.

This is late, but regarding Trump and Hegseths speech, it was a power trip. To call all the generals like that, its showing them that you will come, listen in-person to what the commander in chief has to say. It will annoy the right people and hopefully they self reign. I think people underestimate the value of something like this. Too many of them think they can't be fired or dismissed. Time to show them whos in charge.

As a matter of practicality though, there is some utility in getting them all in the same room. If shit really does hit the fan, those guys will have too work together too deal with whatever is going down. Its important to actually be able to say you've met all your "co workers" in person rather then talking too them over a zoom call. I'm honestly surprised its never been done before, if not for a speech then at least for a more informal social event like a banquet.

Honestly this should become a thing that just happens every 4 years every time there is a new President.

As they should have been. If you're going to lead, you first have to do so by example. A lard ass Admiral in his custom tailored uniform who hasn't seen his dick in a decade is NOT an example to the sailors he's commanding. Getting winded climbing stairs doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the lower ranks as to ability to actually command.

I can't express how much I want to see the obese cretins currently serving forced to meet physical fitness standards in a specific time frame.

Edited to add, AngryCops did a video on a lard ass chief going viral a few months ago, and holy shit that fat bitch should be fucking mortified to even put on that uniform.

I have never ordered anything from Temu but everything I have order from Amazon(yeah yeah shut up) in recent history was delivered by an Amazon affiliated driver.
