It could very well be that they went for center mass, but hit high. I think that's more likely than it intentionally being a neck shot. That would still mean they knew enough to aim for the heart/lung area.

you could make the same argument in reverse: went for a headshot and barely knew how to use guns so it wasn't even zeroed properly
if it was zeroed for 100m at a 200m shot, it would be about 6 inches lower… and hit his neck.

I don't like it but it seems if you have a family that is the best way to go about things these days, you can still debate people in the crowd who talk to the webcam without putting yourself in danger.

almost anyone can reliably hit at that range if they practice a couple hours a day using a scoped rifle for like a week max and then go out for the real shoot immediately after. or this shooter could have practiced for weeks or longer, or been shooting guns for years. there's many millions of people like that in this country

there was no security for the event anywhere near the rooftop because it was several hundred feet away, and there were only ~20 people doing security who were all inside the amphitheater space. there was no security perimeter or anything. come off the roof, disassemble the rifle quickly in privacy, put the parts in a backpack/tube case, then leave the area with everyone else, just another person in the crowd. it doesn't take james bond

Remember the dude that almost got Trump in Butler was inches away from it, all that saved Trump was him turning his head to look at the immigration chart and that shooter also was just using iron sights and a shitty range finder, though he did sadly manage to kill an innocent rally attendee.

Have people here never fired a rifle? 200 yards is nothing even with a small-ish rifle round like .556. A 25-yard zero on an M16 is accurate until 300 yards, until then there’s virtually no difference in trajectory.

For comparison the M1 Springfield was zeroed so 550 yards was point blank. That’s the minimum distance you’re looking for to get an advantage out of 30-06.

All this means is that he put in the effort to zero his rifle properly. Could mean he was ex-military. Or it could mean he just put the bare minimum amount of effort into figuring out how his gun works.

You seemed to have missed the point of what I was saying. Sure, anyone with sufficient practice could easily make a 200-300 yard shot with good accuracy.

Now do that at another human over a sea of people. That changes the game more than you or I could ever imagine.

i think Hasan probably realised that if it's got to the point where well known political online personalities are being assassinated in cold blood, in broad daylight, in front of large crowds, on camera... then he isn't exactly in a good position. Even though he doesn't really do public debates because he's fucking stupid, and sits in his multi million dollar McMansion in L.A staring at a screen most days... he does still go prancing around L.A and jets off to cities around the globe. I think he's really shook because Hasan and Charlie were scheduled to do a debate in the near future and now he's dead.. I think the possibility is very high that one of us unhinged parasocial viewers were so scared of him losing that debate to Charlie Kirk they decided to kill him before they could have the debate. The idea of their master Hasan losing that debate and further damaging the reputation of Hasan and the liberal movement scared the fuck out of them and they decided to do something to stop them. It's speculation but just goes to show how dangerous he actually is and the rhetoric he puts out online leads to actual real world violence including the murder of someone.
