I think the issue is that Ian is playing the wrong class. A hunter doesn't really suit him. If he had chosen the cucklord class instead, he would be doing way better. It has "THE RAPED" passive status, giving him a +80% chance to be mounted by any Worgen, and he unlocks the "Empathy" skill at level 15.
