I’ve not seen other studies along those ethnic lines for different standards, but I’d be somewhat surprised if it doesn’t hold true across other standards just based off anecdotal observations.

For what it's worth, Indians (at least in India) also have widespread vegetarianism (means higher risk of poor protein quality if they're not eating carefully and Indians are too stupid to think before shoveling slop into their mouth) and it's not a case of healthy vegetarians because of high rates of diabetes as well.
Type 2 diabetes also increases muscle wasting meaning if you put those two things together I could see it impacting strength.
