The Tumblr Files - Official Thread - An exposé on the media and people that destroyed the Internet

So basically, it's not the anime, it's the enviroment. Raise autistic zoomzooms with a diet of undertale, steven universe, discord, and later twitter and see how they turn out. The non-weebs in there had this stunted, north american "anime is le CRINGE" attitude you talked about earlier, and guess what? They still trooned out, they're just too furfags instead. If Snow Halation wasn't forced then these kids would be furtroons into UTDR still. At best they become activists after years of mocking SJWs and saying the nigger word because that is the new meta and they don't want to be excommunicated.
This is a very good post. A lot of posts in this thread give me new perspectives on things that I have known before in a new light and something like this sorta speaks volumes to me. As someone who likes certain anime like that, it's quite bizarre to see a mostly American fanbase for such a Japanese concept. A good recent example is Umamusame which is getting a herd of western fans due to global release, which is to be expected,d but nonetheless, it would thrive in 2015 era tumblr.
That whole thing reminds me of spoiler related which is very fucking asscancer but It's the only thing I can really find that represents that era of strange otakuism.

Replace "ironic weeb" with mid 2010s weeaboo, and it makes more sense. Don't tell anyone but I miss this era of animuism *sigh*

Now that you bring it up, this ironic weeb cropped hentai hoodie era feels like an overreaction to the rejection of anime as a concept that was still lingering at the time.
...Why are am*ricans like this?

Topkek. I've already posted that image and remember it like the back of my hand. I still vividly remember the "Reddit weeb" era of the Internet, with how certain anime were among the most popular (I.E. JJBA, Dragon Maid, Re:Zero, Blend S, etc.), Kizuna Ai was the only vTuber people cared about before ProjektMelody and Hololive blew up, and how r/Animemes and Pewdiepie's Meme Review were at the center of it all. I liked that era, but it's not my favorite, and not really one I wanna experience again.

The problem with weeb fandoms and some other fandoms where there is cultural divide is the culture and language barriers on top of the inherent maladaptions that would make someone a shut-in nerd. They will see things that make sense to Japanese people or are sort of cultural inside jokes, absurdities, and allusions and take them at 100% face value because they lack any other context or project their own. This is inevitable and usually benign except the people in question are already socially inept mouth breathers.

Social media increasingly makes many works fandoms are centered on not the, well, center but rather what people use to base their hobby of writing fanfic, coming up with theories, drawing fanart, collecting fancontent from other posts, as a way to collect "friends" with similar interests, rather than about the thing itself. Effectively seeing the canon material as a skinsuit to wear in order to seek validation and be known for something. Even if that something is known for making really weird fetish art with what you imagine characters' fursonas would be or spergy screeds detailing why two characters sharing a glance means they're lovers. Or something similarly as retarded.

Organizing around something you like and mucking about should be fun but the undesirables prolifically fuck things up because they have nothing but time and ten million sock puppet accounts.

A couple of Homestuck-related selections from the Something Awful & Friends thread:

Another thing I'd like to involve within the Steven Universe cycle was the rising popularity of Luni/Lucas Darend Lee (who has a thread here)'s after Gacha Life's release in 2018. Some Steven Universe fans hailing from Dumblr also played Gacha Studio/Verse/Life 1 at one point. Lots of zoomers and some Dumblr users also get into the Gacha fad started in 2017, when Gacha Studio and Verse was still out there, when the majority of Lucas' old fans are mid-2010s weeaboos instead of the usual hard-to-deal zoomers born in the mid-2000s who got into Steven Universe, Undertale, all sorts of shit.

A lot of Gacha Life players' sense of humor are stemmed from the Tumblr era humor, children's cartoon, Roblox, mainstream Anime and mainstream video games such of Undertale. Because before Lucas was outed to be a petty asset thief and serial tracer, Lucas was one of them that brought Gacha Life kids into liking Anime and further insinuating the rise of Gacha porn (probably because of Gacha Resort and the skin color for clothing, allowing unfettered access to make Gacha Heat), due to the many mainstream anime references that Gacha Life has, as well as traced assets from popular anime characters collaborated with a Japanese dress-up game with restrictive limits like Cocoppa/TinierMe/Pokecolo, because Lucas, on his own, can't draw hair for shit aside from picking up more refined lineless hair sourced from them to add more assets into it, and putting plagiarized characters in his game because, he too, is retarded.

Here's an example of how-to compare traced asset to the original source for the Luni rewrite that I'm working on.

This tracing example is also the reason why traced art are easily spotted. Using both the Liquify/Free Transform/Mesh tool will eventually get the result or if you have a keen eye, you can catch it right there.

Because Gacha Life was 10+, many children, including SU fans are unaware of the Gacha Heat spree before the UTTP starts to oust Lucas in approximately 2019, phonebooking him and made botched proofs because the AGLC and UTTP are as retarded as bricks. Then when Gacha Club was released, they have more gem assets which does cater to SU fans, since one of the older asset artist is a Flipnigger homosexual Steven Universe fan. I think that's all I could recall, but Chibimation doesn't count because it's an extremely DEI dress-up splinter of Gacha Life/Club/2 ran by a bunch of turbo pooners, which also has varied amount of assets that panders to Homestuck, SU, Undertale and many more zoomers due to eye-candy assets made by these pooners/trannies.

I'd like to pull this tacky information as it's also an another staple source for Tumblrism and immense slapfighting between zoomies and zoomies. There's fewer Gachanigger rapefugees in here, but I'd like to see their perspective over this. ESL, but what the fucking ever. I hope the next case will possibly wrap up Gacha Life and Lucas, since it'd be interesting to see how it works.

edit: it sounds gay but fixed the tism

Hime is the prefix given to yuri fans, named after the Yuri Hime magazine, so you get himejoshi and himedanshi (princess girl, princess boy). You've surely heard of yaoi's fujoshi, that stands for rotten girl, and fudanshi, rotten boy. Going a bit off topic, you'd think I have an irrational hate boner for GL itself, but no, it's just the fans I despise.
I prefer the term yurifag and as a yurifag myself i hate and despise these people so much. Specially the troon yurifags.

GL became really creepy and hyper sexualized when originally it was a genre more focused on romance, and also the people trying to force any two female characters that were decently kind to each other as a lesbian couple, not taking it as a head canon, but actually imposing it as true.

I also hate fujoshis for similar reasons, (Honestly anyone that hyperfixates that much over homosexual relationships is not a sane person to begin with) but comparing fujoshis and male yurifags, I think the men that fixate on lesbians will always be creepier in my opinion.

In general, people who can only enjoy pairings only if its some flavor of lgbt are insane and very hypocrite. Some even make mental gymnastics to allow themselves to enjoy a straight ship, usually by trooning one of the characters.

In light of Lars of the Stars' upcoming dreadfulness, here's a crosspost for the kind of psychosis we can expect from Steven Universe "adult" fanfucks.

I liked tumblr because I could punch anything into the search and it would return whatever you like. Now they force you to have an account. Is there any other site like this that you can use without an account?
Sorry for the late reply, but you can also use tumlook to browse Tumblr without an account. It sometimes shits the bed if you try to dig too deep on a particular subject, but it is good enough for casual use and checking on cows.

Just read the OP and all i have to say is that this manchild looks like a bootleg copy of TJ Kirk :story:
