When people at HQ do something without telling anyone at my location, let alone me, the lone IT guy for two facilities. Especially after the same thing happening 2-3 weeks prior and agreeing there would be communication beforehand.

Then, said person also drops that a solution for situations where a shared account is absolutely necessary but people at that workstation also need to use their individual logins for certain things? It was decided we aren't using it after all. Would've been good to know as I had been ready to test it on an earlier, agreed on, locked down shared account PC.

This caused one of the maintenance and engineering leads to lose his shit over multiple points and he can become a real hard to work with jackass. I haven't had to deal with him getting like that to me in a couple years and was really enjoying it.

Tomorrow's going to fucking blow and my whole schedule, including having to deal with support personnel for lab equipment within a narrow window of time because they're in fucking Switzerland, is going to get absolutely raped. To revisit the texts or in my office, Teams messages, I hate the following people:

- Those who I have to tease out urgent messages. If you have something urgent to share, please share it in your first message. Bantering about for a few minutes before telling me someone cut themselves is not appropriate.

- Those who delegate up. Everybody is busy, you are not special. You are empowered at a certain level to make decisions. You can certainly frame it as “I’d like to get your thoughts on this” or “Hey wanted to verify this with you.” Acting panicked about ordering an item that all your other peers do without an issue just so you don’t have to accept the blame is another matter entirely. I’ve had multiple discussions on this with this person and it’s at the point where I may have to demote them with someone who knows how to lead.

When people pronounce the word HEIGHT like HEIGTH. I just dont understand, its spelled exactly the same as WEIGHT. The T is on the end. Just because you associate the word HEIGHT with the word WIDTH does not mean they both end with the TH sound. It makes me cringe and think that you are dumb.
I've also begun to notice people using the word floor when they mean ground. I first noticed ESL speakers doing it. That's forgivable. But now I've seen multiple instances of native English speakers doing it. Maybe it's just me, but I see a floor as a man made structure. If you're at a park eating ice cream and drop it in the dirt, you didn't drop it on the floor, you dropped it on the ground. If you're eating ice cream in your house and drop it, you dropped it on the floor, not the ground.
