He ran from his teammates, claim out of mana after wasting a ton on useless actions, and watched while standing still as his team died claiming out of mana. HE DID however have 2 items which regen mana (and are replenishable) which could of been used to save them, and refused to do so. Notably the game was in hardcore, meaning permadeath, so his team lost hundreds of hours all because he chose not to help. This also explains the "mana gem" meme.
