Technically the electricity is fine. And if you think about it for a moment, you realize of course it would be, how would they make rules around electricity thousands of years ago? It's funny, for all the loopholes they use for thier own rules to to trick God like putting the eruv around half of Manhattan, the stuff with electricity they kinda Jewed themselves for no reason. I think there are a few arguments for it, but the main one I know gets invoked is fire. You are not allowed to create a fire or extinguish it. How does that relate? Because when you flip a switch or push a button there will be a momentary, tiny spark. Sometimes I seen the rules about not being able to build or destroy invoked, because you're completing or breaking a circuit. Whatever the reason you're also not allowed to turn off the electricity even if you want to. That's why you'll have a scramble to make sure everything you want charging or on is good before sundown, or you'll occasionally hear how an apartment burned down because a mother purposely leaves a hot plate on all night in case the kids want a quick meal, or the absurdity that is the KosherSwitch™.
