Didn't see he'd be good at it or know how to build a good Joker team (or listen to the people who would) but I'm pretty sure that Austin would know how to make a straight. But to really get addicted to Balatro you'd need to play just long enough to have a few decent Joker cards that can get you through the first two antes, and I don't think he'd have enough patience.
