TV rots your brain, and they watch TV 24/7.

It's less that they watch TV, it's more that they take it seriously. There's some extreme form of mental conditioning of people over 60 where the vast majority grew up with what they believed to be truthful, honorable, decorous journalists, and they physiologically cannot believe that their preferred news show is just propaganda bullshit. The boomers in retirement homes who religiously watch Rachel Maddow are not brainrotten, that's too subdued and tepid of a descriptor. They are NPCs and TV programs are the punch code that tells them how to think.

It's very sad. And even the boomers who have woken up to it and fight against it are still susceptible to the baseline idea that people on TV are worth listening to to some extent. You cannot reach these people or fix them—they will be listening to the empty suits on their screens until the moment they die.

It's also important to note that I got on the train to leave around 6:30. Most of the protesters were leaving on the train with me. The train also bans alcohol on the train for big events, they did not ban me from drinking my giant beer on the way home today.

Ultimately the point of these totally not sponsored protests is to create the narrative to John and Jane Q. Normie that Trump is an evil dictator who wants to genocide all the browns and gays, just like during his first term. With shots like that they might actually get what they want. They don't even have to be that big, they just have to be made to look that way.
