It helps that producer Jack Webb wanted his shows (including Dragnet and Adam-12) to be as authentic as possible down to the smallest detail. Definitely dated, but the period accuracy is what makes it good even now.

Emergency holds up. It was a TV show that radically changed America in a good way. When the show first aired it was realistically depicting a relatively small pilot program LAFD had to extend advanced medical care out into the community to reduce the time needed to begin Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Ambulances of the time were mostly meat wagons. Either owned by hospitals or the local funeral home. By the time the show ended It had become the expected level of care throughout North America. The Emergency Medical Service was now a thing. Without the TV show that LAFD pilot program would have quietly died from budget cuts. Instead every community was being asked "why don't we have this?"

Randolf has been a lifelong advocate for EMS. I think he even went back and got certified as a Paramedic in the 80's. He was very involved with JEMS and continuing education resources. I heard him speak a few times. Incredibly nice guy. Who is completely humbled by the impact the show had.

Randy Mantooth is an absolute pillar of EMS in the US. It's a shame that most of the kids I train these days don't know Emergency! at all. I do my best to introduce it to them.

I'm curious about Waylon Huber's background; the main question being how many generations his family has been in Winnemucca. It could give us some clues as to why he'd (possibly) buy into Russhole's latest whorehouse scheme. I'm thinking stuff like long-standing beef with another family, influential local family where Waylon is their own Hunter Biden etc.

I still enjoy the Rekieta Greer streams in the same way I can still enjoy Pink Floyd's music even though Roger Waters is a weapons-grade cockwomble. Both the Greer streams and PF's music still hold up, and I don't have trouble separating the art from the artist in these cases (well, maybe I struggle a bit more with Rackets than Waters, but my point still stands).

My name is Waylon Huber I’m 35 years old. I was a swimmer and lifeguard in high school. I went to work at a plastic plant in Golconda NV. I then relocated to Reno and was in sales for a year or so. I then went to work for Union Pacific Rail Road where I went from brakemen to conductor to engineer in a little over a year.
