I keep up to date on the Johmas to a frankly psychotic degree, and the last vaguely positive thing I can remember Anisa saying about her husband was about 14 months ago. She said "I'm an Ian person", which was her way of saying that she's into Ian no matter what embarrassing stuff he does appearance-wise. If you're interested, it came from the discussion on their podcast where Ian gives "dating advice", which basically amounted to telling people to settle for women with potential deal-breakers.
I can't remember her EVER saying an unambiguously nice thing to iDubbbz with no qualification. I can't remember a single "Ian is smart", "Ian is handsome", or any similar statement.

Anisa not complimenting Ian isn't just a quirk it's textbook emotional starvation dressed up as irony. In years of public appearances, she’s never once to my recollection said something simple like “he’s smart” or “he looks good,” instead opting for vague, backhanded nods like “I’m an Ian person,” which sounds like she’s picking teams in a custody battle, not describing her husband. She even publicly revealed he shit his pants from IBS, like that’s a normal thing to broadcast about someone you supposedly love. It’s all dominance posturing and avoidant attachment. She keeps him on the emotional drip-feed while maintaining her image as the aloof, too-cool partner who’d rather be caught dead than show actual affection.

Either she genuinely doesn’t respect him, or she’s terrified of looking vulnerable online. Probably both. When you strip away the irony, all that’s left is a guy getting publicly humiliated by someone who thinks love means never saying anything nice. Ever.

That was his last video that cracked a million views before the content cop/deputy videos he just released.
I want to see where the views go after this Ethan Klein drama wraps up.

I figured the podcast would bottom out at about 5K, but it went way lower, so I'll predict about 75K for new idubbz videos within the next 6 months.
If he's still doing it, down to maybe 40K after a year of his new, improved content cop reborn arc.

IIRC on the very first episode of SRMC, Anisa says that he's funny, but that was in the context of justifying the podcast existing in the first place, so I'm not sure if it counts as a proper compliment.

Edit: and now that I think about it, that whole episode sort of revolved around trying to convince people that Anisa wasn't a horrible, abusive spouse.

Now that he's making Content Cop videos again, he's intentionally becoming a "cruel", "hurtful", "hateful", "irresponsible", "shitty", "nasty", "apathetic", "insecure" person that is "morally grandstanding". I guess all that stuff about "acquiring empathy" was bullshit and he's the same old iDubbbz, but way less funny.

He would've been 1000x better off staying on his high horse and just saying he doesn't want to litigate personal drama online. But I guess that's what makes him a cow.

I think one of the worse parts about that video was him acting like his videos was killing people when he was just doing a stupid skit intro, and saying how much their *content* sucked. And now ever since he released the one on Ethan I guess that video doesn't matter anymore.

I think you're right on the money here. the stupid thing is about it here is, while i won't deny looks are an issue and women are picky, i think the problem with ian is clearly his personality. he isn't a cave troll. anisa latched onto him but if he had actually worked on himself i think he could've gotten a reasonably sane looksmatch like ethan. but if it's true that he doesn't feel empathy, that was never going to happen I guess. he may be incapable of personal growth that isn't a facade.
