According to statistics I just googled (and can not vouch for the accuracy of), China produced 1.8 million tons of copper in 2023, but consumed an estimated 12.5 million tons of copper. It was estimated that 22.6 metric tons of copper were produced globally.

So 55% of the world's copper was used by China to make shit despite only producing 14% of the world's copper.

Sure looks like China is sucking up the world's raw resources to make shitty products that break quickly.
