I'll be honest, which I know is rare online, but I don't want to believe it. It may be true, it probably is, but I just don't want to believe that 1 company is as powerful as a NATO ally. That they hold/move/own so much capital as a company is terrifying.
The snarkiness isn't required though, this isn't a marvel film.

Finland's total number of employed people is only 15x larger than Apple corporation, 2.5 million vs 160,000. It's not very big.

American chocolates and soft drinks would be far better with good old cane sugar instead of disgusting high-fructose corn syrup.
No joke, half the reason I prefer diet drinks it because I find them less "heavy" taste, if that makes any sense.
What really gets me is that seed oils are always stored in clear, plastic containers. This means that they are constantly subjected to the ambient light that causes oxidisation.

It also could be more Russia crap.
Trump and Rubio have given indications that they're pretty close to washing their hands of the whole Russia mess. They thought they were close to getting a deal, but it's become clear that both Zelensky and Putin are egotist retards who refuse to come to the table unless they get literally everything they want, lock, stock, and barrel.
Time for us to detach and let Europe eat itself like we should have done a century ago.

How different from school choice would this be?
Head start is pre-k and a little younger, also has ability to be paid for by govt depending on income. It's admittedly very helpful as basically daycare. I knew a handful of kids who academically-wise qualified for advanced path in school but due to number of absences from having to stay home and take care of siblings weren't able to join.

Finland isn't exactly s big country period. Most of the landmass it has is covered with snow and ice as is, a complete wasteland.

So China is still the cheapest labour?
No. That's the exact opposite of what I was saying.
The BOM includes packing and R+D in most projects
BOM is what your factory will charge you for components. You already paid for tooling at startup and packaging costs may be included or a separate line item (depends on how the contract was written). That factory knows fuck-all about your in-house R&D, marketing, or other overhead costs. But maybe the Commonwealth does things differently from the rest of the world.

To clarify, you're claiming that it $30 covers not only BOM for an iPhone, but shipping, all R&D, and all other overheads as well?
You talk down to people as if they're retarded
How else do you expect to be treated when you storm out of the gate claiming that China uses "slave labor"? But let me guess: you were just being hyperbolic, right?

Chill your beans. China was and is subservient to the US because, as you said, they control all of the manufacturing. The dumb, rice farming, smiling chink is wising up to the abuse that the west, all of the west, has dished out.

I'm not talking, in this instance, about widespread manufacturing. I'm talking specifically about the American (and Uk/European) companies that buy a product from China, made by slave labour, for cheap as fuck, and put a ridiculous mark-up on the product for nothing other than sheer greed.
$30 is the cost to make an Iphone, yet Apple sell them for $1500. That's not good, at all. I'm not saying they should make no money, but $1500?! They can fuck off. I would like $99 and would swallow $199, but $1500 on a single item that costs $30 is fucking scandalous.

And it's not just Apple. Nike, Adidas, Disney, all of the worst, overpriced niggercattle slop is made in China with massive mark-ups out of pure greed. Yes, I'm repeating myself because it bears repeating.
Lois vitton bags for $10,000's because they can? Because they've invented a generation of consumerists which are destroying what made the west great. They've bred a race of purchasing locus, ones too dumb to break the cycle, too deep in FOMO to stop buying over-priced, chink-made, american-stamped slop.

If Trump's tariffs - and I disagree with him on exempting electronics for the reasons mentioned above, break the programming and brainwashing on the normies, then that's good for all of us. No more will hyper-capitalists profit off of people. No more will thousands be flushed down the toilet in a needless pursuit for more tat. And, the biggest benefit for all, is no more will these greedy cunt companies excuse pushing anti-consumer policies, like apple forcing upgrades to apps that kill older phones that are physically capable of running those apps, just to push people to buy their over-priced chink-made shit.

If you want to bring manufacturing back to America, you can't do it while these companies operate like they are. You kill these greedy companies by China offering cheaper products, then kill the chinese companies by offering those same products, made at home, with a higher quality standard.

TL;DR Apple et al have used their money and power and influence to kick the ladder away from any real competition. If Trump not only puts that ladder back, but makes it an escalator, then all the better it is for America, Americans and the wes
You sound communist. Stop being a commie. Apple can charge $1500 per phone because people pay for it. The market speaks, and prices follow.

just look in the mirror

none of that is happening in the 21st my fren

China is not the same kind of enemy as the USSR, that doesn't make them our buddies. this is not hard.
Super late reply but China is enslaving entire countries right now with their "Belt and Road Initiative", which basically heavily indebts countries to China in the billions for low quality tofu dreg infrastructure projects that end up collapsing and failing. China can effectively control 3rd world shitholes with the heavy debt placed on these countries in exchange for the abysmal quality infrastructure they build for them.

I’ve always been curious, what will they do if the countries in question just default and refuse to pay?

eat the loss and move on.
it's a crippling debt burden for an impoverished third world country, but for china it's peanuts.
this is also very unlikely to happen. defaulting on public debt is an extremely bad thing for a state, it seriously fucks up your countrys financial and economic opportunities for many decades.

both Zelensky and Putin are egotist retards who refuse to come to the table unless they get literally everything they want...
Compromise for both of them would be political suicide, but there is a nuance: only one is actually winning on the ground.
Has Trump declared martial law yet? I was told by reddit fags that he would, I don't wanna be disappointed
We just have to post a few dozen more "MAGAts are literally Nazis" threads and you'll see, comrade. #Resist

At least the poster who brought up insane prescription medicine prices had a point (just not the one he thought he was making). I don't understand people who still have a fractured anus over Apple's prices. I guess they're just sneeding because they are green text message plebs?

An easy one option is to order Chinese businesses to stop all operations or even trade with that country as punishment.

Most of you know but for review, the “news cycle” begins on Monday. (Usually) I am a bit curious what the weekly soap opera will be about this time.

So much so, I almost want to wake up early and see what the big names like NYT put on the agenda. That’s also, (usually), how it works, but in 2025 I don’t know if newspapers drive the media any more. It could be the blogosphere that does.

What do you guys think the outrage du jour will be this week?
A lot of it is going to be conditional, like a series of if(else) statements.

-If the dow plunges we will hear about tariffs the entire week.
-Failing that, they'll probably test the waters with the deportee or maybe try to find another.
-Failing that, maybe focus on the UK troon law, this is a bit more complex because usually they like to avoid painting europe in a bad light but they have been acknowledging lately that there's a right wing resurgence over there, so maybe they'll jump on this. Then again, they've been trying to distance themselves from the troon thing so who knows.
-If some islamist shithole chimps and makes some threat they'll talk about how trump is saber rattling for ww3.
-Or possibly a european military will make an announcement that they're going with a local tire manufacturer for their supply trucks instead of USA one, and then the news cycle is about how this is the end of the nato alliance and all europeans hate us and trump is a russian puppet.

Rolled my eyes in seeing that the news is trying to nuke Hegseth again with the Signal thing, now saying he sent "details" to his wife and brother and attorney, the latter two who work at the pentagon. It's apparently the same stuff as before, but no one cares. There's a reason Trump's approval is still above water no matter how much they want us to attack Iran.

Mark these precious Apu words, fren, there will be R congressmen and senators who will not vote for the big beautiful bill until Hegseth steps down, this will be the new form of blackmail on the country. And I hope Stephen Miller casts his +3 spell of righteous xenophobic anger to buff Trump in the coming weeks.

Lmao, this is the exact attitude of the retards that caused the 2008 crash from giving nigs house loans.

China won't control shit, and if they use it as casus belli to invade and take it anyway, the rest of the world will just fund terrorists/freedom fighters to undermine the entire thing, same as vietnam, soviet afgan, american afgan, etc.

You can't get blood from a stone, my german friend. I thought your people collectively should have learned that lesson many times in your history.
