Didn't Nick used to have a driver during his streaming career who drove his kids around for him? He also had a Nanny and a Maid IIRC.
As for being an addict, I think that's why the recommendations were made, 30 days in prison to get him clean and make Nick do anything not to go back, (scared straight if you will) and the five year probation is to make sure that if Nick ever does go back on the bottle that most of his kids will be free and clear by that time, or at least have some level of self sufficiency.
I can see why the recommendations have been made, Nick hasn't taken any accountability or responsibility, continues to drink and take whatever legal drug he can (galaxy gas etc) and blames everyone but himself for his actions, even as he prepares to plead guilty. No remorse, no show of changing, he'd be back doing cocaine right now if the state didn't have his balls in a vice, and if he got a year probation he'd be back doing it in one year and one day (if he could last that long).
