Very true however Phil has a really massive self destructive streak that Chris hasn't got or at least in the same way, Chris is dumber than Phil but he doesn't seek outright toxic people and groups to ingratiate himself with because he thinks that he will get a pass and eventually wind up near the top of the social hierarchy because he's a special badass.

It's more or less a case of
"In the land of the autistic the high functioning autistic is king"

Phil try to wow people with his knowledge of politics, history, language along with his street smarts and activist record.
To the average person this is basically lulzy (see the rainbow Jesus incident) but to people as stupid as Phil its impressive.
Aside from that the plan b is to basically alienate everyone Phil stands against by branding them as transphobic/racist/oppressive. This creates a situation were correcting or arguing with Phil basically paints you as the enemy.
It seems like it wouldn't work but Phil and jordman managed to remove are opposition and basically take over the transway group with a combination of buzzwords, confidence in bullshit and branding hardworking well meaning people who ran the place as do nothing transphobe.

Toren likely doesn't know about transway since Phil seldom mentions the fact he defrauded a charitable group. One of the reasons for his name change was to distance himself from his past.

I don't think Phil is using plan B on Toren. He hasnt said shit about him and claims the two are still living together. Unless he's doing so privately or you know something we don't.

To his way of thinking everything was going fine and the group betrayed him but the reality was everyone worked out what was going on and chased him out of town. In fairness it was mostly Jordman but he was smart enough to run and leave Phil behind as a scapegoat.
2: He's revised what happened anyway.
3: He doesn't mention it because he knows people will look into it.
He readily mentions the "social embargo" against him but never why it exists. His whole new name and persona along with relocation was to create distance from the incident but Phil forgot the internet exists.
4: He lacks an adult concept of guilt and punishment. He's like a child who got caught with his fingers in the cookie jar. He's not feeling guilt for what he did but that people caught him and got mad. Like a child he expects everyone to get over it because it was in the past but doesn't understand why adults get so butt hurt about theft and slander.

Long story short
Phil, Jordman and Rika all met up at a support group called transway. It was about learning how to pass, help with transitioning and building links to the community.
But Jordan was all "fuck this shit" and went on a crusade against "respectable politics" because trannys shouldn't need to pass and don't need anything from CIS people.
So after slandering the existing group leadership for being elitest self hating trannys Jordan managed to become the new leader with Phil as his hype man.
At local level Jordan managed to make some noise and attract media attention and before long he was calling people transphobic shit lords at a higher level and demanding tranny revolution.
Meanwhile he and Phil were stripping money out of the organisation to spend on pizza parties.
Eventually Jordan discovered that all those local government officials he pissed off and the existing leadership he chased away were the people who actually funded all this crap so with nothing left to steal and no wat of getting any more funding Jordan declared Phil the new boss and ran for the hills.
Around this time the old leadership started to fight back and point out that the changes Jordan promised hadn't happened people got mad and looked to Phil for answers and Phil responded by tarding out.

Reading that article, it amazes me that there was a time when Phil could be considered a legitimate victim. I mean, he comes across in the main body of the article as quite a reasonable person. I wonder if there's a single person who knew him back then who isn't now aware of what he's really like?
