I can't speak for everyone, but I've pretty much never met anyone in Ireland who has any genuine particular animosity for the English other than rooting against their national football team. If anything we have a reluctant sibling kind of fondness for them as we recognise that, while there are differences, we're culturally extremely similar. We've also, up until very recently, been very fond of Americans, though the EU has been changing that, as tbh, have been the majority of Americans who come live here. I work with quite a lot of Americans and all they ever do is talk about how awful America is.

And I thought that the ex-pat Americans were bad, but last month I had to work with a number of visiting Americans and OMFG, the TDS on display was actually kind of worrying. I felt like I was doing the Homer backing into a bush meme every time the discussion turned to how horrific it all is in the US right. And it was making me feel like a massive hypocrite, as when I talk to Irish/other Euro people about the US, I always point out that we're not American and aren't in a position to understand what's going on in their country and how people feel. And then I'm standing with a bunch of Americans talking about what's going on in their country, and I'm silently judging them for being wrong. Though, part of what they are telling me is how wonderful everything is here compared to the US, and I know that's bullshit. Our civilisation is being fucked over from every direction and I'm really worried about what's going to happen in the next 5-10 years.

The US is as big as all of Europe, so keep in mind that coastal voters here understand why voters in the plains supported Trump just about as well as Irish voters understand the concerns of Italian voters.

Disney marketing covered up the gigantic loss of fans making seem more popular than ever but they are starting to see the writing on the wall. If the monied interest speak up the women and simps will be forced to fall in line lest they have the same "they didn't see the movie because their anti-white and anti-america" thrown back at them.

I broke a friend brain the other day by telling him that the only way to save his fandoms is to admit Kathleen Kennedy ruined them and actually hold a woman accountable for her actions. That I and others are perfectly fine if he never gets to enjoy a quality cape shit film again. I told him I'm one of the people pushing to start bullying people for liking those hobbies now that they are weak and unprofitable.

Also, since flights to Europe are a lot cheaper from the east coast bughives than from the rest of the country, Europeans are more likely to encounter Manhattanites than Texans or even Californians.

Yeah completely. But I do think that it's also indicative of the fact that people all over the West have been very divided. There are people in Ireland, Italy and various parts of the US that have more in common politically with each other than with their neighbour. And that's not a remotely natural situation.

Rome never made any attempt to "pacify" Ireland. They had seasonal trading posts there, but no permanent military presence. Agricola considered the possibility of annexation, but there's no evidence he ever attempted it, nor is there any evidence that it was more than a passing fancy. His estimate that it would only take one legion was based on supposition and little else.
 
New Supreme Court case to watch: "Supreme Court takes up Colorado conversion therapy case" (archive)
The Supreme Court granted a Colorado therapist’s request to review her challenge to a state law banning mental health care providers from engaging minors in conversion therapy, a discredited practice that attempts to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity to align with heterosexual or cisgender norms.

Kaley Chiles, a licensed professional counselor in Colorado Springs, challenged the law in 2022, claiming it interfered with her ability to treat individuals with “same-sex attractions or gender identity confusion” who “prioritize their faith above their feelings.”

The court’s decision to take up her challenge comes after the justices previously turned away opportunities to weigh in on conversion therapy bans. The case is set to be heard during the Supreme Court’s next annual term, which starts in October.

Chiles, who only uses talk therapy in her counseling practice, said in court documents that she works with adults seeking Christian counseling and minors “who are internally motivated to seek counseling.”

She argued that she assists her clients only in their “stated desires and objectives,” which sometimes include reducing or eliminating “unwanted” sexual attractions or learning to “grow in the experience of harmony with one’s physical body.”

Chiles, represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, said Colorado’s 2019 law had forced her to deny voluntary counseling exploring sexuality and gender in violation of her and her clients’ religious beliefs and free speech rights.

A Colorado district court rejected Chiles’s suit in 2022, as did a panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled in 2023 that the law regulates professional conduct, not speech.

it's not that it's not even completely good. this is one of those times where massie isn't just taking the easy route, he's actually right. this bill is fucking awful. it doesn't cut anything, and actually DOES restore shit that doge has cut. like i said, you ought to take a read into it and see why in this case it's actually not good. johnson is a niggerfaggot who needs to tie his own rope, because he's awful for the republicans and i'm still salty they voted that cunt in for speaker again. retarded.
