LaBelle acts like it's 1970 and every military recruit is being sent straight to 'Nam. Here's your periodic reminder that only 10% of the military are combat troops.
And that's not going to be green recruits, either, even if they are intended to end up as combat troops. Most commonly, service members are mechanics. Minimum obligation after enlistment is 4 years for almost all branches of military service, so its not like you are recruited for life with no chance of ever getting out.
It's absurd that Billy is implying that 4 years as a recruit/ mechanic/ button-pusher in the military from the ages of 17-21 would have anywhere NEAR the impact of cutting your genitals off.

The right answer is "Yes, we need to stop those too."
The other two are false equivalencies to say the least. Encouraging or taking a kid to sports is fine, forcing a sport is shitty parenting and would fall into micromanaging and abuse at worst, not surgery. The puberty isn't a choice, it hasn't been for tens of thousands of years across multiple species, including humans. The only way to opt out was to die.

I could be wrong, but iirc isn't the age limit 19 because that's how old you can be and still be considered a pediatric patient (so you don't have to ditch your pediatrician and find a new doctor the second you hit 18)? And the EO specifically stops pediatric gender-related "care"? So an 18 or 19 year old could theoretically still get HRT or whatever, they'd just have to go to a grown-up doctor to do it?
Troons lie and misrepresent things so much and so often that my instinct is always that they're doing exactly that.
Better idea: Let kids be kids without risking being sterilized and mutilated for showing an interest in a toy from the "wrong" aisle.
Anyone else remember fondly back in the early 2000s when people were advocating for an end to gender stereotyping, especially for kids? Department stores were doing away with "boys" and "girls" toy aisles in favor of just having one big toy section, people were pushing to normalize boys playing with dolls and girls playing with army men and that being totally and perfectly fine? There was a huge push to address bullying of gender non-conforming kids. For adults there was a lot of "having short hair and being serious about your career doesn't make you less of a woman," and the rise of the stay-at-home dad. That was when it was truly "let kids be kids." And let adults be adults. And fuck gender stereotype crap.
And then trannies came along and ruined all of it, and now our gender roles and stereotypes are arguably tighter and more extreme than they have been in fifty years, just in a different way. Instead of being told not to play with Barbie because you're a boy, a little boy who loves dolls will be told his interest means he must really be a girl, and he'll be put on a pathway to permanent sterilization and a lifetime of medication and surgery to force the rest of the world to pretend he's a woman. A woman with short hair who is serious about her career will be asked her pronouns every time she meets someone new and be forced to constantly defend her womanhood. A little girl who wants to play outside "too much" or covets her brother's GI Joes will be told she's actually a boy and needs to destroy her healthy body with exogenous testosterone at the first sign of puberty.
"Let kids be kids" my ass, these fuckers don't want kids to be kids, they want kids to be tiny little activists they can hold up to make it look like their porn-induced autogynephilia is "natural" and "normal". They were always going to make these kids fight, because that's the point of grooming them into existence in the first place, to fight for the right of grown male fetishists to jack off in the ladies' room.
Sigh.
