I’ve never heard of a paternity test in a copyright suit but there’s a first time for everything!
I mean, I'd probably show up with one of I was Russ's adoptive mormon dad just to prove he's not REALLY my kid.

I wonder how fucked his birth family is. People like Russ who's slate had "piece of shit" written on it so strongly from birth that they come up with the most possible guardrails (wealthy practicing mormon family embedded in a Mormon community, with siblings who are successful) and still turn into a no-account freakazoid tend to come from multiple generations of losers and criminals.

I mean, aren’t you at least slightly interested in finding out who’s responsible for this?

I think the reason Russell thinks lawyers should be a neutral 3rd party is because HIS lawyer in the Erika harassment case probably told him "You don't talk to Erika, only I talk to her for you because I'm an unemotional 3rd party" and probably told him to take the plea deal because "As your lawyer I look out for your best interests, and this really is the best deal you're going to get."

Of course Russ thinks Null is in hot water, and Hardin, Null's go between, should be convincing Null to settle since that's clearly in Null's best interests!

He could legit fuck up a cup of coffee and it absolutely astounds me.

Careful. You are risking 3rd degree burn assault charges when Rusty sticks his willie in a cup of Joe to disprove you.

He probably doesn't have enough money to pay Steve Taylor for another hour of his personal services.

Now the megabully hardin has even bullied the defendants put of his witnesses! No hookers, no witnesses, no case and Mr Moon walks away with the bag. A true travesty of justice!

Steve Taylor sounds like a male prostitute.

Greer can still produce undisclosed evidence, but if he does, Hardin gets to depose his family members. Greer really doesn't want his brother and father to go on record (despite them being the only disclosure he has made).

I doubt that is the hook. I am more inclined to it being the mootment of witness tampering charges.

I'm surprised that some states have court on the 23rd. If this judge was more polite to Null I'd feel sorry for his holidays being ruined by Greer.

There's even a rule for it. FRCP 35.

Etc.

It would actually have to be relevant to the case, though.
"In controversy" is usually a term of art. Greer's mental state is not in controversy, unless some defense theory relies on Greer not being mentally stable. It unfortunately does not mean that Hardin can point out Greer being mentally unwell and demand a competency examination.

Steve Taylor sounds like a male prostitute.
Maybe he means Steven Tyler from Aerosmith can testify about his plights.
It unfortunately does not mean that Hardin can point out Greer being mentally unwell and demand a competency examination.
That's pretty much what I said. It has to be relevant. To be relevant, it has to be a fact in controversy or make one or more other relevant factual findings more or less likely.

I know the reasonable answer is the judge tosses this shit with prejudice and it ends. But what's the unreasonable answer?
Easy. Russ is a poor pro-se retard so he just didn't understand that the opposing side would contact his witnesses. The witness tampering is easily curable by simply not calling those witnesses. This whole blow up is good enough for the show cause hearing so we'll let that go.

We need an adult for this so Hardin will be ordered to help russ find disclose his other witnesses (the mysterious Steve). That being done will also make his earlier statements about moving back to Utah totally not lies. Of course we'll need to give him an extension on filing disclosures for this.

Sorry for speaking this into the world but you did ask.

The whole point of providing witness lists in advance is so that they can have their depositions taken by the adverse party. That's the literal reason for the rule. If you provide a list of witnesses, the other side is allowed to depose them to ask them what their testimony is going to be and to seek other information.
