It looks terrible in the way chili always looks terrible, but it looks like it's the right texture and consistency and all meat and a color like it maybe has a lot of smoked anchos in it or something, so it looks like an actual chili, not the weird thin soupy shit Nick made.
If it didn't thicken up enough, I might use masa flour or plain old flour or cornstarch, or even just a quickie roux near the end. It doesn't really look that thin, though.

It´s not thin, it is split - if you look in the corners, there are big pools of fat, probably because the pan is a little warped, higher in the middle. That´s why I suggested a binding agent like chocolate, that has natural emulsifiers.

I used beef stock and cocoa powder, as well as plain old flour. But the meat was still very cold when I started chopping it and browning it.
