2024 Syrian opposition offensives - The first Syrian rebel offensive against Government forces since March 2020

That's a pretty simple one to answer. You can bet it's not those holed up in Idlib and carrying worthless turkish money on them. That's not up for discussion as we've all seen what the "moderate rebels" really are times and times again.

Ironically, this town is no longer under the government's direct control, and is instead under the control of proxies whom the government has to pressure in order to do things, like to go on offensives against jihadist groups.

Although I could be mixing up Ghouta with another town farther south.

The secular freedom fighters liberated the Military Research Center, which was bombed by Israel earlier this month. Coincidentally, they've also taken a neighborhood called "Binyamin":

Seems like the Jihadis are mostly focused on taking back some of the territory that was supposed to be theirs per previous agreement between Turkey and Syria.

Remember: Nothing ever happens.

Assad won’t fall. Once the jihadis go too far beyond their supposed territory, Turkey is going to hammer them.

Remember, it’s not 2019 anymore. Assad is back in good standing with countries like Saudi Arabia, and US forces will likely be pulled out early next year.

Turkey has spent four years building up the jihadis who are currently attacking Aleppo. It isn't going to hammer shit. Except the SAA which it is bombarding with artillery rn to support the jihadi attack. And the Kurds. These are the people Turkey wants to hold northwest Syria in some kind of autonomous zone. Turkey wants to do the same in northeast Syria but it has to finish wrecking the Kurdish militias there first

The Mossad is sending all their reinforcements into Aleppo:

"The road to Jerusalem doesn't pass through Syria!":

It hasn't been a good few months for the Axis of Mutah. The mullahs have got to be panicking over being named Supreme Leader when Khameini kicks the bucket.

This map is outdated, the rebels have already taken the university and several other neighborhoods as well:

Reportedly, the Syrian Army has ordered that the city be abandoned and Assad's dogs are fleeing en masse to Al-Safirah (southwest).

Observation from a Russian-Israeli Telegram channel:
It is simply amazing how one act of madness by one Sinwar can bring about the collapse of the entire complicated system that the Iranians have built with so much effort and huge investment. And that's even before Trump came to power at all.

Yeah all the usual "OSINT" suspects are saying the front has basically collapsed, the SAA and pro-Assad militias either surrendered, defected, or ran en masse, and the jihadis reached the center of the city less than an hour ago

Russia has been bombing all it can but it doesn't have enough stuff available to wipe out entire city blocks in one blow like it did 10 years ago

If that turns out true (certainly looks like it will) it is game over for Assad in the North. Especially since he can't count on massive Russian or Iranian reinforcements either. Bad news for the Kurdish regions as well since they are now possible being threatened by Turkey and their proxies on two fronts.

Russia has been bombing all it can
Has it?
I haven't read anything new today, but before that the general view was that the Russian bombing is ineffective and unresponsive, that Syria was a pen for the most incompetent and corrupt Russian officers and their attacks are pre-planned strikes on targets in the rear that don't help the SAA. No close air support at all.

That was what Russian milbloggers said anyway.
