On Nick's for-sale house: The location, the square footage, the lot and the property generally isn't bad. The price isn't out of line for what someone is getting sight unseen in that area. But the house itself is a difficult if not impossible sell. The kitchen and bathrooms are really dated (or just bad). But the two things that really kill it are:

1) Its so empty and impersonal on the inside. Its looks institutional or like a bunker. Its not going to be a place anyone is going to imagine themselves living in by looking at it. The size combined with that empty look just says "cold". The flooring in alot of the house contributes to that look.

2) The Silent Hill bathroom will kill the deal on 99% of the people who walk through that house. Its going to shock people and its all some people are going to remember about the whole house once they finish walking through.

There are buyers in that area for property at the price point with a large house and acreage. But the problem is going to be that they will always have a better choice at that price point than that house.

The way to sell it is probably dropping down the price enough that there is enough value to play with to justify doing the renovations and staging the house in some sellable way.

This was my first reaction as well that a no-contact order for a non-victim is out of the ordinary, but on second thought this makes more sense if the state is shoehorning it into drug cases' extremely common probation conditions prohibiting the convict's contact with known drug users or with known felons going forward. Typically it would prohibit contact with an entire class of people defined that way, but since the state would be in possession of April's allegedly clean test results and since it's as yet unknown whether April will be convicted of her felony charge at all or whether her sentence upon conviction would get knocked down to a misdemeanor after probation, those broad classes wouldn't necessarily encompass April at all times, so it wouldn't be outside the bounds of reason or legality for the state to get creative with a no-contact condition singling her out by name. The state is under no obligation to do even offer any plea deal at all and they are the master of their offer with no legal obstacle to getting creative with a condition narrowly tailored to the circumstances like this, so if Nick's professed love for April is more important than avoiding trial, he's free to take it or leave it.
