From what I gather, he had an Apple Watch (which is why they immediately asked Kawan if he had an Apple Watch). His socials got blown up the second he walked in and people were spamming him with shit about Burt.

He wrote a comment on his Instagram stating that production thought he knew what the show/Sam Hyde was ahead of time because of the amount of notifications that he got. So it doesn't appear that he violated any actual rules. But it was a fuckup on production's part to allow him in with a smart watch anyway.
