Wouldn't the joke be that an Irish slaveowner fucked one of his slaves? Them being a slave (presumably African) would be the reason for the cornrows, and the Irish given name would come from the "someone" who fucked them. If it was an Irish slave, then them being fucked would have nothing to do with anything because they'd already embody the traits necessary to have that hairstyle with that name. The holes in his brain must be expanding if this is him making a joke off the cuff.

If you want the snappy delivery, you could say "some slave got fucked by its Irish owner." If anything, giving the reader a breath with the full stop undermines the snappiness of his joke. If he had put the more crude element in the second short sentence, it might work better. "This Irish guy had a slave. He fucked it." The way he wrote it seems undercooked and like he was overeager to make some dumb sexual remark. Maybe I'm overthinking this at this point.
