I once had a friend who was a compulsive liar and I noticed that whenever he lied, he would elaborate too much, adding unnecessary details to his stories in the process. Nick does the same thing.

I think it's the "eye contact". Sociopaths do this. Looking deep into someone's eyes, stressing how sincere the connection and how sacred the moment is... hence the "I will never lie to you" shit to a nebulous live audience. His tell is how unbothered his views of intimacy are.

This was the exact thought I had when he had that cringe-inducing rant about growing up on the mean streets of Houston. He was talking about how a cop came on the school bus and walked by his bus seat, which he awkwardly and unnecessarily noted was the one right next to the heater. Like, why?
Another funny thing about that story is that in 2018, he used it as an illustration how he "did not fit in" with his peer group and growing up among non-whites was "a little scary"; then, in 2023, it became all about being a professional street nigga.
