Though I've got my doubts with that story because I refuse to believe a hospital would refuse a son to visit a mother in her death bed, under any circumstance.

During covid I personally witnessed a hospital deny an Amish family entry to visit their dying mother so yeah, sadly that shit did happen.

Unconditional is such a bizarre choice of word to use here. Every Ralphalationship is dependent on not making him mad, scared, embarrassed, etc. It's the reason every single romantic relationship has ended extremely poorly as well as having no friends. Hell, Dick and Nick only tolerate him because he's an asset as far as hollerin' on xitter, but I wouldn't consider that a friendship at this point.

My mother's hospice was at home with my dad trying to take care of her by himself as she got worse and worse because in-hospital would have meant absolutely 0 visitors while she died.
My help was limited because of full-time job on nights with pitiful PTO and sister has a large family she has to deal with.

It was a bad time in general.

Covid restrictions for hospitals were fucking horseshit.
